China Cabinet turned Book Cases

Welcome Paint Lovers…

Joselyn @ The DIY Spot shared her bookcases…

Power of Paint

She took a china cabinet hutch and made it into two bookcases with glass doors. She used an array of different paints. She used Cinnamon Cake by Behr on the body of the bookcases and a mixture of acrylic, ASCP and Behr paints from her leftover stash to create the striped back design.  What a great update idea.

Hutch and Patio Set

Welcome Paint Lovers…

Ashley @ Little Yellow Barn submitted this gorgeous chalk painted hutch.

PoP Little Yellow Barn

She used Provence chalk paint by Annie Sloan. She dry brushed “Old White” over the beautiful teal blue.  Leftover pallet wood scraps were used to piece together the backing, which was then primed and painted with a latex.   So pretty!

Sunday @ A Sunday Afternoon submitted her patio set makeover.

She found this cute patio set for $20 but it was rusted and the fabric faded. It didn’t take long to spray paint it cute colors and easily re-cover the seat cushions with a drop cloth.  LOVE the teal blue and red combo.

Laura @ Our Prairie Home submitted her gorgeous china cabinet makeover.

PoP LIttle Big House on the Prairie

She stripped it down to the bones, painted it inside and out with a combination of ASCP “Old White” and homemade chalk paint using BM “Cotton Balls. Then it was waxed with AS Dark Wax to age it. She then covered the interior backing with shelf paper bought from The Dollar Tree. The bottom original knobs were painted to match the shelf paper and waxed. You’ve got to see the before on this one.

Kimberly @ Serendipity submitted her dresser transformation.

She refinished the top and left it the original color and finished it with dark wax. For the body of the cabinet, she used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White, French Linen and French gray (mixed with glazing medium). She heavily distressed the piece and then finished with a coat of dark wax and a coat of clear.
